Blood Drive - Sept 7th

The Social Action Commission will be hosting its final blood drive of 2010 on Tuesday, Sept. 7th from 2-6:30pm. A sign-up sheet will be posted on the Narthex bulletin board. Please consider donating at St. Patrick so we can finish this year with a tremendous response! Thank you.

Help With School Supplies

Hey, Kids! (and Adults): It’s not too early to think about school supplies. For the next 2 weeks the Social Action Commission will be collecting the following items for back-to-school supplies in a basket at the back of church: colored pencils, colored pocket folders, No. 2 pencils, glue sticks, rulers (with inch/meter markings), blue/black/red pens, wide-ruled notebook paper, 1 inch 3-ring binders, 70 page wide-ruled spiral notebooks, composition notebooks w/black & white cover, 12-count colored pencils, 24-count crayons, 8-10 count washable markers. If you can’t shop, you can donate to this cause.

Hospital and Home Visits

Please call if there is someone in the hospital that we can visit. We can also add them to our prayer line. If you or someone you know is homebound and would like to receive the Holy Eucharist, please contact Jeanne Seaton @ 351-4988 to make arrangements.

Free Lunch at Wesley House

Pantry Sunday

The last weekend of the month is Pantry Sunday. Donations of cereal, canned food and meats, fruit juice, peanut butter, soup, diapers and personal hygiene items are requested and greatly appreciated by the Iowa City Crisis Center.

CROP Walk (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) March 28

CROP Walk (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) raises money to help fight hunger. The Social Action Committee invites you to support this year’s CROP Walk by walking or supporting our parish team. 25% of what is raised stays in Johnson County and the remainder goes to fight world hunger. Put “CROP Walk 2010” on your calendar March 28th. Walkers will assemble at the IC Rec Center for a 2.5 mile walk at 1:30 pm. To pledge financial support to Team St. Patrick go to http://www.cropwalkonline.org. (Click on Iowa and Johnson County/Iowa City Walk to donate for Team St. Patrick or sign up on fundraising sheet on the bulletin board in the Narthex. Please join us for a great walk.

Free Lunch Program at Wesley House Feb 17

Wednesday, Feb 17th. We need volunteers to donate casseroles, salads and desserts for this event as well as to help set up and/or serve that day between 10:30-1:30 pm. There is a sign-up sheet posted on the bulletin board in the Narthex. Otherwise you can contact Judy Swift at 319-530-9436 or by email at judy-swift@uiowa.edu to volunteer.
