Elementary Ministry
ATTENTION ELEMENTARY YOUTH!
Please join us the third Sunday of each month.
Newcomers are welcome!
Who we are….
St. Patrick’s Elementary Youth Group provides fun, safe, and positive social and service opportunities for children in third through fifth grade to grow in their faith and become part of our church community.
The group is run by parent volunteers who are committed to enhancing your child’s faith and social development. The parents are supported in their ministry by St. Patrick’s youth minister. Each member’s parent(s) is welcome to volunteer; however, is not required to do so.
What we do….
Some past activities have included a St. Nicholas party and a contest to see whose egg would survive a long drop. Service opportunities have included collecting items for the animal shelter, raking leaves for a person no longer able to do so (followed by pizza), making and delivering Valentine’s Day bags to shut ins and nursing home parishioners, and preparing and serving a meal at the Ronald McDonald House. Every attempt is made to actively involve children and engage their interests.
When we meet….
Meetings are held every third Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. We generally meet at the church; however, we may meet at an alternative site depending on the activities scheduled.
Parents are welcome to stay with their children or may drop their children off. The weekly bulletin on the third Sunday will provide meeting details; or you may contact Shelly Conlon at 319-341-8561 for more information.
